Christians are saved with a purpose, and that purpose revolves around Christ establishing His millennial kingdom.
Salvation is in 3 tenses. First, when a person gets saved, ie becomes a Christian, their SPIRIT is saved, John 3:6. This salvation is eternal and cannot be lost or forfeited. Second, from that point forward, they are commanded to ‘work out their salvation’, which pertains to their SOUL. This salvation is achieved by works and can be lost or forfeited. Lastly, overcoming Christians will receive their glorified body at the Bema Seat judgment, while non-overcoming Christians will receive theirs at the end of the millennium.
The salvation of the SPIRIT is eternally secured by the finished work of Christ and cannot be lost. However, the salvation of the SOUL is earned and kept by wworks and can be lost (see James).
In a nutshell, by obedience to the Holy Spirit and the Word of God. Knowing is not enough; we must be doers. But what we do must be aligning with the will of God.
A proper understanding of Bible prophecy is grounded in the accurate interpretation of the Old Testament. What was concealed in the Old is revealed in the New. God has established the use of types and antitypes to reveal things to come.
In I Cor. 10:6 it reads, “Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.” The Greek word translated examples is tupos. In verse 11 of this same chapter it is translated ensamples. Israel’s tupos (example/ensample) teach Christians spiritual truths concerning their own calling, testing, inheritance, and the coming Kingdom.
God sovereignly caused actual historical people, events, institutions, and experiences to occur in a particular manner so that they would form divinely designed patterns of later spiritual and prophetic realities.
